What is "In The Undertow"?
It is a mailing list for people intrested in the music of T00L and the like. It is a place to express ideas and opinions without harsh words. It is a place to discuss thoughts with other like minded souls.

Can anyone join?
Yes, but attacking others for no good reason can not be tolerated here. If you have something insulting to say, either e-mail the person in private or go cool down and think it over first. Judgement for the sake of putting another down without even trying to hear them out is not a very welcomed idea in the Undertow.

Do I need anything to join?
An e-mail address would be a good start :) Other than that, you may have to sign up with Topica.com. Don't worry, it's free and quick to register. After that, your messages post to the list by e-mailing In_the_undertow@topica.com and you will then recieve messages from other members.

How many more e-mails am I looking at getting from this thing?
Well, it's a new list (started December 20, 2000). At first, you might only get a few a week, but that will change as the list grows. There are ways to direct your e-mail to where you would like it to go, depending on the e-mail client you are using. Ask for more details in the list.

What can/will be discussed in this list?
This list was begun as a free-form discussion setting for the band T00L, but it is also a discussion list for other topics besides music. Any band you feel is important to you can be discussed. Something happening in the world that's on your mind, bring it up. Have an idea about the meaning of a song? Talk about it and see what others have to say. But it must be stressed that no flaming, bashing or outright insults will be tolerated. This list was founded for a intelectual place to discuss ideas, not to pick on someone whom you do not agree with.

What's in it for me?
What do ya want,eh? A rubber biscutt? Well, there is something in this for all who join: The chance to meet like-minded people and to share ideas in a open-minded enviroment. To hear the thoughts and opinions and likes and dislikes of others and perhaps see things in a whole new light or open another's mind to a new way of viewing something. You never know... anything could happen once down in the undertow.
